Carrots are the perfect secret ingredient for any type of tomato dish! My grandma used to always add carrots into her spaghetti so this recipe was special to me as soon as I saw it. The carrots brought out such a sweet flavor from the tomatoes, so this sauce is on the sweeter side, but not overally sweet. The carrots also added a lot of texture, stringy texture because of the size of grater that I used. Texture aware individuals might want to make sure to grate the carrots extra extra fine to minimize the carrot texture. I personally love texture variations in food, so I quite enjoyed the carrot medium grated. I tried this pizza sauce on all of the Food Hero pizza recipes and it tasted great! This sauce does make quite a bit! My last recommendation is to also add 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, but that is just because I like a lot of seasonings. Even without the added Italian seasoning, the recipe is so flavorful, simple, easy and fast!
